Report your claim immediately. Locate the toll free telephone number on your report an accident right away.

Once you report the accident, be sure to take down the following information regarding the other party:
• Policy number
• Name of the person driving during the accident.
• Location of the vehicle (street, closer corner or block)
• City, municipality
• Any other reference can be helpful to locate the place of the accident.

In case of a highway accident take note of:
• Kilometer marker on the highway
• Highway intersection
• City or nearest town

With this information it will be easier for an adjuster to find the location of the accident.

In case people are injured, it is very important to communicate this to the person in charge so that an ambulance may be requested as soon as possible.

Don’t drive or start the vehicle’s engine if it is leaking oil or gasoline that can make matters worse.

If you can move your car, move it to the right side of the highway to avoid being struck by passing vehicles

Don’t try to settle the matter with the other driver involved in the accident; wait until the adjuster arrives and let him take charge of the claim.

If the driver of the other vehicle doesn’t want to wait until the adjuster arrives, ask the police for help in detaining them.

If the other vehicle involved runs away, try to take note of:
• License plate number
• Vehicle make
• Color
• Any other distinguishing features of the vehicle

Don’t take risks; don’t try to chase after the vehicle.
